Beachcomber Big 50 Educational

What an experience…this place is paradise, my first impression of Mauritius is just pure bliss paradise!!
Our first visit was to the stunning Dina Robin Beachcomber Resort and Spa, we stayed in the fabulous Zen Suites in the adult’s only section. The Zen Suites were ocean facing within a beautiful garden area with a private pool surrounded by palm trees. We were treated to a beach party with the fantastic Mauritian dancers who put on a spectacular show for us all and even managed to get me involved with the Saga dancing ritual. We were split into teams to part take in cocktail making which was to be judged by the Dina Robin staff, my team ‘Beachcomber Bomber’ as awesome as we were we did not win.
Out third day we were ushered onto golf buggies to the amazing Paradis Golf Resort and Spa where we took part in our excursions. I chose glass bottom boat snorkelling which I thoroughly enjoyed. By night we had another surprise waiting for us all, we were taken by speedboat to embark on a fabulous sunset catamaran cruise.
Victoria Resort and Spa and Victoria for 2 were our next inspections and on first impression the outside of the Victoria Resort and Spa did seem a little tired and water stains down the side of the hotel, which I’ll be honest did shock me to think this is one of the higher end hotels beachcomber offer. However the inside of the suites and family rooms were fresh and modern and very spacious with lovely views out to the ocean.
The victoria for 2, the newest section of the Victoria Resort and Spa is absolutely stunning. The villas here are amazing and are swim up rooms with sun loungers in set in the pool forward facing the ocean, just simply stunning. This place is a definite honeymooners retreat and will be my main selling point for the Victoria Resort and Spa.
The next visit was to the Mauricia Beachcomber which on first impression was a 3* property and not the official 4* rating, my experience here wasn’t the best as I got locked inside the bathroom and the door handle had actually snapped off in my hand, I eventually managed to get the lock back on the door but this really isn’t good enough for a beachcomber property, I also noticed the loo holder hanging off the wall with the nail sticking out, if this was a child who got locked in the bathroom there would have been a serious problem.
We had breakfast in the Mauricia restaurant overlooking the grand bay with a lovely view out to the ocean dotted with beautiful boats. After breakfast we were split into teams to take place on a fantastic treasure hunt around Grand Bay, the aim of the task was to get to Le Mourne Golf Course using our charm on the locals and hitch hiking a lift to get there whilst on the way collecting local newspapers, local dodo matches, local Mauritian food and memorabilia to mark Mauritius 50 years of independence. I would recommend Mauritius for keen golfers as the Le Mourne Golf
Course is an 18 par course with fantastic facilities which is a highlight for the avid golfers.
After the hunt we were transported to the beautiful canonnier beachcomber resort for a delicious a la carte lunch, my first impression of the canonnier was just WOW..what an absolutely fantastic family hotel with a touch of elegance.
The resort has something for everyone and really appeals to children, the kids club is actually set inside a real life castle which is located opposite the stunning spa set high inside the famous Banyan Tree, which really is a must see. The family apartments and suites were fantastic, spacious and modern. The children’s bedroom even came equipped with their own small dressing gowns and slippers which is a lovely touch.
Our next day we were transported to the Trou Aux Biches Beachcomber Resort and Spa, this resort I can’t actually put into words, this place is pure paradise.
The villas come with their own pools and personal chefs who make breakfast for you each morning, a fantastic feature for our elite clients. We had a full tour of the beachfront suites and two / three bed villas which are amazing. The three bed villa is the same size as a standard flat back in the UK. All the suites and villas are decorated to the highest standard and all come with supreme furnishings. With the villas the outside space just gets better with beautiful outside showers and an outside bath tub alongside with your own private pool.
At night we were treated to an amazing BIG 50 BEACH PARTY and were greeted with saga dancers and drummers and a delicious BBQ on the beach. The saga dancers kept us entertained all evening to which I dis par take in again.
The next day we were taken to the lovely Casela Nature Park and Leisure Park where I embarked on a 5,000ft drop Zip line course through the Mauritian mountain range and the stunning waterfalls. This was the most thrilling and adventurous thing I have ever done and something I will never forget.
We also had a treat to be taken through the wildlife park to see the Islands iconic Tortoises which were gigantic and over 200 years old. We were later taken up to the avalanche ride and blasts you down the mountain. I would highly recommend this wildlife park for any families looking for a fun day out.
We were transported to the next day on an amazing adventure and got told we were to split into teams and drive south of the island to the Shandrani Beachcomber Resort. This task in itself was epic and to be honest took its toile on me as a passenger and non-driver with only a paper map for directions.
My team ‘the strawberry blondes’ did not win neither did we lose which was an achievement in itself. We go lost so many times through dirt tracks, mountain ranges and rural villages.  This was an experience I will never forget and I feel quite proud we drove nearly 4 hours without the satnav and just a paper map. We eventually found the Shandrani Beachcomber Resort with great thanks to the Mauritian police who escorted us through the traffic.
My first impression through the reception was just WOW the whole reception opens up to a stunning ocean front with idyllic green islands dotted around the bay. A true picture of paradise and utter serenity. The water sports beachcomber offer are amazing and offer all types of water sports such as water skiing, paddle boarding, sailing, snorkelling, and wind surfing.
The superior rooms and family suites once again were decorated to the highest standard and had ample room for families.  We had a tour of the superior rooms, deluxe rooms, suites and family apartments, the shandrani offers excellent facilities and a brilliant all-inclusive package which served champagne by the glass from 6pm which is a great feature for our up market clients.
To sum up an amazing trip into words I cannot do apart from say Thank You so much for an amazing unforgettable experience which I will treasure the rest of my life.
