Black Friday travel deals are only good value if you compare them properly. A low headline price can leave out baggage, transfers, taxes or flexibility, so the useful question is what the price includes, not how large the saving looks.
This year Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Here is a practical way to judge any offer you see.
1. Check what the price actually includes
Two holidays at the same price can be very different. Before you compare, list what each one covers:
- Flights, including hold luggage and seat selection
- Transfers between the airport and your accommodation
- Board basis, such as room only, bed and breakfast, half board or all inclusive
- Taxes, resort fees and port charges
- Cruise gratuities and drinks packages, where relevant
2. Look at the departure airport and times
A cheaper fare from a distant airport can cost more once you add parking, fuel or an overnight stay. From Wrexham, Manchester and Liverpool are the usual options. Our Manchester Airport transfers and Liverpool Airport transfers pages explain how getting to the airport can be arranged.
3. Read the deposit and payment terms
Some deals need a low deposit; others ask for more money upfront or set a firm balance date. Check when the balance is due and what happens if you need to change the booking. Our booking terms and conditions set out how bookings with us work.
4. Check the protection
Holidays booked as a package that include flights are covered by ATOL protection. Many other bookings are not. We are ABTA members, and flight-inclusive packages carry ATOL protection through our suppliers, which safeguards your money should a supplier fail. For a plain-English explanation, read ABTA and ATOL protection explained and our ATOL terms.
5. Ask about flexibility
Flexible booking can matter more than a small saving. Ask whether dates, names or passengers can be changed, and whether the deal is refundable, partly refundable or non-refundable. Consider travel insurance at the same time as booking.
6. Compare against the same holiday, not a similar one
Compare the same hotel, the same dates, the same room type and the same board basis. A different room grade or a shorter flight time can explain most of a price gap. See what is currently on offer on our special offers page.
7. Know your destination requirements
Passport validity and entry rules can add time and cost. Our guide to ETIAS and travelling to Europe in 2026 explains what to check.
Quick checklist
- Same hotel, dates, room and board basis in every comparison
- Baggage, transfers and taxes are included or priced
- Deposit and balance dates are clear
- Protection is stated in writing
- Change and cancellation terms are understood
