For those of us that have a budget to work to when choosing a holiday, the Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort and Spa has to be the best choice anyone can make.
On 17 acres of land, the hotel is spacious but doesn’t feel too big. It has a feel about it that shouts luxury without having the price tag. It feels safe and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. This hotel will appeal to families, honeymooners and those looking for a premium hotel but not with premium prices.
However, calling it a budget hotel does it no justice at all. This is an outstanding property with outstanding management who ensure that each guest knows that they are more than just a person occupying a room. It comes across as though the staff know every single person that crosses the threshold.
The rooms are spacious, welcoming, clean and well appointed and even the furthest room feels on the doorstep of the restaurants and beach. The rooms at the front of the hotel have commanding beach views and they call them beach views despite a majority of the rooms seeing the sea, however some of the rooms may have a palm tree slightly blocking the sea views and this means that they refuse to call them sea views. THAT is the level of customer service you will not find in 99% of similar priced hotels in Europe or possibly the world.
The food is exceptional, plentiful and the wide variety meant that they can cater for everyone. Have a nut allergy? Easy. The hotel will remove all foods containing nuts and ensure your safety. Sounds too good to be true, however we tested it and it happened.
The beach is something else. Clean, spacious and there are more than enough sun loungers for every guest that is staying….. Over 600 dotted around the pool and on the beach. he gym is small but very well equipped and air conditioned to a spot on temperature, for us. The small Spa includes a sauna and hamman. The signature of the hotel of us was the Wellness centre that’s in the base of a Banyan tree. Its a place of silence, peace and tranquillity and could be on a different planet.
We highly recommend the Beachcomber Canonnier Hotel for those on a budget looking for value for money and a premium hotel but not at premium prices.
